Practice

Gay is a partner of Field & Custer, P.C. where she practices exclusively in the areas of matrimonial and family law. Having litigated hundreds of matrimonial and family law cases for over twenty years, Gay is convinced that Collaborative Law provides a respectful, less antagonistic and more productive way to resolve the issues that divorcing families face. She believes that the collaborative process allows the parties to reach an agreement that will allow them to move forward with less pain and animosity and the likelihood that the parties will be able to communicate and resolve future issues that may arise.

Professional and Community Involvement

Gay brought the concept of Collaborative Law to Syracuse and serves on the Board of Directors for the CNY Collaborative Family Law Professionals. She is a member of the Family Law sections of the American, New York State, and Onondaga County Bar Associations as well as a member of the Family Law Policy Committee, a fee arbitration arbitrator, and a grievance investigator for the Onondaga County Bar Association. Gay is a frequent guest speaker for the New York State and Onondaga County Bar Associations and the National Business Institute. For eight years, Gay was the assistant principal violist for the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra.
