About Jilllian McGuire:
Jillian became certified as a Collaborative attorney in 2019.  In addition to collaborative cases, Jillian’s practice focuses primarily on family and matrimonial law, including all aspects of divorce, custody, equitable distribution of assets, and child/spousal support.  She has vast experience negotiating and preparing separation agreements, prenuptial agreements, and parenting plans.  Jillian utilizes collaborative principles in all of her cases, seeking to apply a practical, realistic, holistic, and creative approach at all times. 

Prior to returning “home” to Syracuse, Jillian clerked for the Honorable John H. Tisdale of the Circuit Court of Maryland, and practiced privately in Maryland and Washington D.C.  Jillian serves as the president elect of the Central New York Women’s Bar Association and is on the Board of Directors of the Hiscock Legal Aid Society, the East Syracuse Minoa Youth Sports Association, East Syracuse-Minoa Education Foundation, and serves as an executive member of the Fremont Elementary Parent Teacher Organization.  She has been awarded an Upstate New York SuperLawyers “Rising Star” every year from 2014-2020, was recognized as Empire State Counsel in 2014, received the Onondaga County Distinguished Pro Bono Service Award in 2014, and received the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York Hanna S. Cohn Pro Bono Award in 2018.  In 2019, she was named as a Central New York 40 under 40.  She is the proud mother of three young children
